The Proceedings of LEEM/PEEM-5 will be published as a special issue of Surface Science (Elsevier Science).

Instructions for Preparation of Manuscripts

All contributed conference papers must report original and unpublished work. All papers must meet the standards for technical content and English that are set for regular contributions to Surface science. All paper will be refereed according to the standard criteria for Surface Science.

Length constraints and format

Each contributed paper will have a typical length of 4-6 printed journal pages. This corresponds approximately to 12 - 18 pages of double spaced text, tables, figures, references, abstract, etc.
Each figure and table should be on a separate page.
Figure and table captions should be listed together on a separate page, not under each figure or table.
The text should be double spaced using 12 pt. font on numbered pages and pages should have wide margins.
The manuscripts must be prepared in PDF format, and be sent to the submission e-mail address listed in the conference website. On-line submission using the Surface Science online submission tool is not available for these conference proceedings.
The final version of the papers after refereeing should be provided in electronic form. Details of the required file format will be given at that time.

If your file size exceeds this limit, please contact the organizing committee (pro-leem-peem-v@spring8.or.jp) to arrange an alternate means of transmitting your contribution.

Deadlines

The deadline for submitting papers is 6 October 2006.
